A huge thanks to the Spangdahlem Fitness Center Staff who stepped-up and arranged to host the road race on a last-minute request. We've set up the schedule so it should be no problem for those who planned to stay in the KMC area for the weekend. Spangahlem is only an hour and a half drive from the Ramstein/Vogelweh area.

September 6 - Individual Time Trial and Points Races
Radrennbahn (velodrome) in the town of Schopp

Schedule:
0900: Time Trial - 4km for men, 3km for women
Points races will start immediately following the time trial! Category combinations will be determined on-site depending upon the number of participants in each category. Races are typically 20-40 laps of the 444 meter track. Distances will be determined on-site based on available time.
NOTE: The TT will start promptly at 0900 as we must be finished with all events on the track at 1230. German races begin at 1300.

Time Trial:  A favorite at past events! Each rider is alone against the track and the clock!  Riders will start on both sides of the track - similar to a pursuit race.
Points Race: Every five laps, participants will sprint for the finish line with the first four across the line receiving points (5, 3, 2, 1 points). The one with the most points at the end is the winner (not necessarily the first one across the line at the end of the race). Rules will be further explained and clarified on-site!

Bikes:
This is considered a road event and road bikes must be used (no track bikes, please). This track is perfect for racing road bikes and you are certain to enjoy yourself! Never ridden on a track before? No problem as the banking is not steep and you'll be used to it and will be having a great time within a couple of laps.

Points for each stage will be awarded IAW "USFE Series Race Points". Ties will be broken using the road race results. Overall GC results will be awarded points using the same system and added to the previous series events for the category winners in the U.S. Forces Europe Road Cycling Series.

To Schopp: From Vogelweh, travel south on B270 approximately 10km to the town of Schopp. Schopp is a left turn off of B270. Follow the signs for "Radrennbahn" to the start area. Additional signs with "USFE" will also be posted.
