2007 Rose Barracks Rundfahrt

Unfortunately, low preregistration numbers have caused us to cancel this event.

We have not cancelled this in haste and we've had a lot of discussion both about how we could have made it work for this year but also what would help to improve the numbers for the future. One suggestion is to schedule it on the same weekend as the Grafenwoehr MTB event, similar to the kickoff of both series' at Aviano. If you have any feedback on this or if you have other suggestions, please let us know!  We hope to have a road series event at Vilseck next season. A big thanks to the folks at Vilseck for all of their efforts to make this event a success - I'm sure you will enjoy their hospitality next year!

July 22 - Circuit Race

Eligibility: U.S. ID-card holders assigned to Europe or TDY to Europe for 30 days or more. Please inquire about specific eligibility rules if you need clarification.

Courses are located on Vilseck.  Course profiles are flat and fast!!

Helmets are mandatory!

Men's Open
Men's Senior (Birth years 1968-1977)
Men's Masters (Birth year 1967 and earlier)
Women's Open
Men who are eligible for either the Senior or Masters category may compete in their age category or the open, but not both. The category can not be changed after participation in a series event.

Lodging: On-base lodging has been reserved the night of 21 July, but reservations must be made by 16 July. Thirty rooms have been reserved for this event on a first-come basis. The cost of a room is $64 per night for a single room and $71.50 per night for a double room.  Rooms are also available with 2 queen beds - call for prices and availability. Awards: Awards will be presented to the top three in each category based upon general classification results (criterium and circuit race combined). 

July 21 - Criterium

Schedule of Events:
1400 Check in and race number pickup, Course will be open for training/recon
1500 Women/Men's Master race starts; Open/Men’s Senior will follow immediately after at approximately 1615

Course Map

Race Distance:
Men’s Senior’s/Women - 20 laps = 30km
Open/Senior Men - 25 laps = 37.5km

Special Rules: Both criteriums will be run as points races with points awarded to the first four riders across the line on laps 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25. Riders who are lapped twice will be removed from the race and placed accordingly in the final results.

July 22 - Circuit Race

Schedule of Events:
0900 Check-in and race number pickup
1000 Women/Men's Master race starts; Open/Men’s Senior will follow immediately after at approximately 1130

Time trial bars will not be permitted for the road race.

Course Map

Race Distance:
Women - 7 laps = 27.8km
Men's Master - 10 laps = 41km
Men's Open and Senior - 13 laps = 53.3km

Awards:  Awards for overall winners of the Rose Barracks Rundfahrt (Crit + Circuit race combined) will be presented to the top three finishers in each category.  Award ceremony will immediately follow the circuit race.
