Eligibility: U.S. ID-card holders assigned to Europe or TDY to Europe for 30 days or more. Please inquire about specific eligibility rules if you need clarification.
Lodging: Limited on-base lodging is available for the nights of 7 - 9 April but the reservation must be made NLT 28 Mar 06. Thirteen (13) Visitors Quarters (VQ) have been reserved. The cost of a room is $32 per night and includes your spouse - children are not permitted in these rooms. Fifteen (15) TLF rooms have been reserved for individuals with children. April 8 - Mountain Bike Race
First Event of the 2006 U.S. Forces Europe Mountain Bike Series
Schedule of Events:
1000 Check in and race number pickup, Course will be open for training/recon
1100 Race Starts -- all categories
Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place finishers in each category immediately following the race, at the course site.
1800 Italian buffet, sponsored by FitLinxx, at the La Bella Vista Club. This buffet is free to all participants of both the mountain bike and road race. Guests are welcome but must be identified on the registration form and will be charged a fee of $10. For those participating in the mountain bike race, this fee will be collected at race check-in. For those competing in Sunday's road event only, this fee will be collected before the dinner.
Sponsor drawings for hundreds of dollars in cool stuff will be held during the buffet.
Directions to MTB Course:
From Aviano AB, Area 2 -- turn right leaving gate exit, stay on this road until first stop sign, turn left at stop sign on Mountain Highway. Follow Mountain Highway until you see the sign for the Le Masiere Restaurant (approximately 1 mile) - turn right here; parking lot is about 200m down this dirt road on the right side.

Category for the U.S. Forces Mountain Bike Series is determined by birth date as of 8 April. The U.S. Forces Series has more categories than what is offered at this event and results will be credited to the appropriate category for series points.
Race Distance:
All Men's categories - 5 laps = 27km
Women - 3 laps = 16.2km

Men's Open
Men's Senior (Birth years 1967-1976)
Men's Masters (Birth year 1966 and earlier)
Women's Open
Men who are eligible for either the Senior or Masters category may compete in their age category or the open, but not both
Race Distance:
All men's categories - 6 laps = 53km
Women - 4 laps = 35.3km
Awards: Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place finishers in each category. The awards ceremony will be held at the start/finish area immediately after the race.
Prize Drawing: There will be a prize drawing for a Flyte SRS-3 frame/fork package. You must preregister by the 5 April deadline and participate to be eligible for this drawing.
