Armed Forces Cyclist, Marine Major Andy Shaw, Breaks Collar Bone
17 April 2006
Andy Shaw was lucky when caught up in a crash in Saturday's Mount Joy Road Race with only a broken wheel, a few scrapes and sore muscles to show for it. Unfortunately, while on a Sunday training ride, Andy crashed hard at 30mph and broke his collar bone in two places.
On doctor's orders, his arm is in a sling for four weeks with about eight weeks to "full operational capability". He'll at least be on the trainer soon and we expect him to be back racing by the end of May and up to full speed well before our Military World Championships at the end of July in The Netherlands.
