Armed Force Team Update - 5 March
5 March 2006

So far at the races.....an early season update

Ian Holt: Has the distinction of “first to race” this season, kicking off his season in the “Ride It Like you Stole It” crit on Jan 29th in Carson, CA rolling in towards the front of the main bunch in 35th.      

Shawn Olin:  Has the distinction of “first to win” this season, leading the open field in the 20k DeWalt Club Time Trial in Miramar, CA with a time of 27:10.

Andy Shaw: Braved the mid Atlantic cold weather to chalk up a 4th in the “A” race at Race 2 of the Winter Solstice race series in Sterling, VA.  Andy will be joining Shawn and Ian on the West Coast for the next couple of weeks racing in several regional and NRC races in the California sun.

Holly Borowski:  Has been racing extensively in California as a guest on the new McGuire elite women’s team helping her teammates hunt down NRC and regional wins.  Holly has also been able to get a some results for herself, placing 4th in the Pro/1/2 field in the Pine Flat road race in Fresno, CA

Michael Gallagher:  After a short rest from his break through cyclocross season, Michael began his road season with an impressive 5th in the Ohop circuit race in Washington on Feb 26th.  Michael was also nominated for the Army Athlete of the Year but was beat out by some stiff competition. Beth Mason, Steve Mlujeak, Becky Gross and George Ganoung:
 Training hard in the colder climates.  All plan to start racing in mid to late March.  Ganoung was nominated for the Coast Guard Elite Athlete of the Year in January and was honored with the runner up award.
